GEOGRAPHY OFMADAGASCAR
Madascar is a large island and a number of minor islands. The main island is the fourth largest island in the world. Is located at the Indian Ocean. The capital is called Antananarivo, is in the Hauts Plateaux near the centre of the island. The highest point is Maromokotro, in the Tsaratanana Massif region in the north of the island, at 2,876 metres (9,436 ft) and the The lowest points are at sea level.
The total Area of Madagascar is 587,040 sq km.
Madagascar is divided into five geographical regions: the east coast, the Tsaratanana the north, the central highlands, the coast, and the southwest. The east coast is a true rain forest, with an annual rainfall of about 110 inches. Vegetation is doing well in the warm and humid climate of this region. The South is a semidesert. In the west their are many slops. In the North is an area of highest mountains, including the Tsaratanan Massif, which is the highest range in the country, in this part of the countrythere are many kinds of agriculture, the chief ones are sugar cane, coffee, vanilla, pepper, and rice.
In Madagascar the climate in is tropical along coast, temperate island, arid in south. They get about 52.8 inches of rain a year.
The island has a wide variety of natural resources and great animals and plants to watch and enjoy.
The biggest lake in Madagascar is Lake Alaotra; it is approximately 40 km long, and they calculate have approximately 337 bodies of water. They also have a lot of rivers like the Betsiboka (the longest river of Madagascar.The island doesn't have land boudaries
They have a lot of natural resources, like minerals, a great variety of plants, national parks, unique animals, like a Lemur. Many dinosaur fossils have found in Madagascar, like a Bothoriospondylues, , Eustreptospondylus, Laplatasaurus, Lapparentosaurus, Majungasaurus, Majungatholus, Rapetosaurus, and 230 million year old prosauropods.
